🚀 Getting Started

Opening the Plugin

🔥 Method 1: Ribbon Icon

Look for the flame icon in the left sidebar and click it to open Street Evangelist Companion

⌨️ Method 2: Command Palette

Press Ctrl+P (Windows) or Cmd+P (Mac), type "Street Evangelist", and select "Open Street Evangelist"

First Time Setup

Set Your Name

Click the ⚙️ settings icon in the header, enter your name under "Minister Name". This personalizes your greetings.

Configure Note Folders (Optional)

Enable "Create Notes for Journal Entries" and set paths for Journal, Prayers, and Testimonies. Default paths work great for most users.

Open the Form

Click "Log New Encounter" button

Fill in Details

Enter location, notes, select outcome (Prayer, Conversation, Tract, Salvation), and your feeling

Submit

Click "Submit Encounter" to save. The encounter is added to your history.

Enabling Note Creation

  1. Go to Settings (⚙️ icon)
  2. Find "Note Storage Options"
  3. Enable "Create Notes for Journal Entries"
  4. Set your folder paths

Before You Go Out

  1. Pray - Ask God for divine appointments
  2. Review - Refresh your scripture memory
  3. Prepare - Bring tracts, water, snacks
  4. Partner - Go with at least one other person

During Ministry

  1. Listen First - Understand their need
  2. Share Your Testimony - Personal stories connect
  3. Use Scripture - The Word is powerful
  4. Be Patient - Some seeds take time
  5. Log Encounters - Document while fresh

After Ministry

  1. Journal - Reflect on what happened
  2. Pray - Intercede for those you met
  3. Follow Up - If contact info was exchanged
  4. Testify - Share victories with your church

🔧 Troubleshooting

Plugin Not Showing

  1. Check if plugin is enabled in Settings → Community Plugins
  2. Try reloading Obsidian (Ctrl/Cmd + R)
  3. Check for errors in Developer Console (Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + I)

Data Not Saving

  1. Check that you clicked "Submit" or "Save"
  2. Verify write permissions on vault folder
  3. Try the "Sync Ministry Notes" command

Notes Not Creating

  1. Ensure "Create Notes" is enabled in settings
  2. Check folder paths are valid
  3. Verify folders exist (they should auto-create)
